Ram's Head, White Hollyhock-Hills (1935) by Georgia O’Keeffe

Coming

On longer evenings,
Light, chill and yellow,
Bathes the serene
Foreheads of houses.
A thrush sings,
Laurel-surrounded
In the deep bare garden,
Its fresh-peeled voice
Astonishing the brickwork.
It will be spring soon,
It will be spring soon —
And I, whose childhood
Is a forgotten boredom,
Feel like a child
Who comes on a scene
Of adult reconciling,
And can understand nothing
But the unusual laughter,
And starts to be happy.

—Philip Larkin

There is so much alive in the world right now. So much growing. I guess that’s what you can expect from Spring.

We touch base with the frenzy and urge of living as animals under this Sun and this Moon on this Earth.

Among the many blessings of Eastertide is a reminder to frolic, to play. Circling gives us space to engage with this most magical and hilarious of states where we take the imagination seriously. (Read this previous newsletter of ours for more on the use of play in Circling.)

But Eastertide is also a great time for Spring Cleaning. And if you’d like to cleanse your doors of perception or at the very least sweep up and clear out the cobwebs of your consciousness, Circling is a great place for that, too. (Yes, we’ve got a previous newsletter on that very topic.)

Or maybe you’d like to use these months of rain and sunshine to grow new, green shoots of yourself and make meaningful change. That sounds like a great project to bring to Circling. (And wouldn’t you know it, we’ve got a previous newsletter to help you on your way.)

There’s so much to do and so much to be when you show up, slow down, and get present with each other.

Woo! Ain’t nothing like it in the world.

And though it may sound too good to be true, there will be Circling in Charlottesville this Saturday! Find the details below or go to our MeetUp Page.
